BHEL requires for its unit at Ranipet, Tamilnadu, experienced
engineers in disciplines of Mechanical, Civil, Electrical &
Electronics (EEE) and Chemical to work in areas of Desalination
and Flue Gas Desulphurization. Engineers with experience in
Design, Detailed Design, Proposals and Contracts, Operation and
Maintenance in Desalination Plants, Flue Gas Desulphurization
Systems and / or associated sub-systems in fields of Fertilizer,
Cement, Refinery, Petro Chemical and Chemical Plants will be

Full time BE / B.Tech Degree in Mechanical / Civil / Electrical
& Electronics (EEE) / Chemical discipline from an institution
recognized by AICTE with at least 60% marks in aggregate for

The vacancies reserved
are tentative and subject to marginal revision / adjustment
based on assessment. In such an eventuality, the reservation may
also undergo revision for different category.
Vacancies
reserved for OBC Category are meant only
for candidates coming under `Non-Creamy
Layer'. 'Non-Creamy Layer' under OBC means `The gross annual
income of parents of the candidate should not be more than Rs.4.5
lakhs in last three
consecutive years.'
(2) Minimum qualifying percentage of marks for SC/ST candidates is 55%.
(3) A relaxation of 5 years for SC/ST candidates, 3 years for candidates
from Other Backward Classes (Non Creamy Layer), and an additional
10 years for Physically Challenged candidates, is admissible in
the upper age limit.
(4) No processing fee is to be paid by SC/ST/Physically
Challenged candidates.
(5) Relaxation for Ex-Servicemen will be as per extent Government
Rules.
(6) A relaxation of 5 years in upper age limit is admissible to
candidates who were ordinarily domiciled in the State of Jammu
& Kashmir
during the period from 01/01/1980 to 31/12/1989.

Besides the basic pay and Industrial Dearness Allowance, the
benefits such as Leave, Leave Encashment, Medical facilities

A non refundable processing fee in the form of Account payee
demand draft of Rs. 250/- (RupeesTwo Hundred and Fifty only)

should be enclosed with the acknowledgement slip. No

| Health

Applicants should have sound health. Before joining, selected candidates
will have to undergo medical examination by the Company's Authorised Medical Officer and the
appointment will be subject to meeting the health standards prescribed by Company. No relaxation
in health standards is allowed. (BHEL's Medical Examination Rules)
The definition of Locomotor Disability and Hearing Impairment, for reservation in number of
vacancies in BHEL, for Physically Challenged candidates under `The Persons with Disabilities (Equal
Opportunities, Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995', are as under:
Locomotor Disability - means minimum 40% of physical defect or
deformity which causes an interference with the non functioning
of the bones, muscles and joint.
Hearing Impairment - means loss of sixty decibels or more in the
better ear in the conversational range of frequencies.
Blindness / Low vision - 'Blindness' refers to a condition where
a person suffers from any of the following conditions, namely:-
(i) total absence of sight, or (ii) visual acuity not exceeding
6/60 or 20/200 (snellen) in the better eye with correcting lenses,
or (iii) limitation of the field of vision subtending an angle
or 20 degree or worse,
"Person with low vision" means a person with impairment of visual
functioning even after treatment or standard refractive correction
but who uses or it potentially capable of using vision for the
planning or execution of a task with appropriate assistive device.
The Physically Challenged candidates are required to furnish duly
stamped Medical Certificate in relation to their disability from
Government Hospital or Medical Board attached to Special Employment

Last date for submission of applications on-line is 17th October,
2009 (upto 4.30 p.m.).
(1) Interested candidates are advised to visit our web-site
for submission of on-line application only after obtaining
a Demand Draft
for Rs.250/-, once applicable, since the details of Demand
Draft are to be furnished in the online application form.
(2) After submitting the application ON-LINE, a unique
Acknowledgement No. will be allotted to the candidate.
This number will be displayed on Acknowledgement Slip with
certain other details. Candidates are required,
- to take two print-outs of this Acknowledgement Slip.
- retain one copy of Acknowledgement Slip with them.
- send the other copy of Acknowledgment slip along with enclosures
in a cover superscribing

(i) Deserving candidates may be offered additional increments
(in the same pay scale) at the discretion
of the Management.
(ii) Candidates called for interview will be reimbursed for self,
subject to a maximum of AC 2 tier to and fro rail fare from the
starting station or the mailing address to Mukundarayapuram
Railway Station whichever is nearer to the place of interview
and back by the shortest route on production of proof
of journey.
(iii) The jobs involved extensive travelling and work at sites, having base at Ranipet.
(iv) Persons employed in Govt. /Semi-Govt. Departments /Public Sector
Undertakings /Autonomous bodies should apply online and send the
acknowledgement slip directly to BHEL. In case of being shortlisted
for the personal interview they should produce 'No Objection Certificate'
at the time of interview. Otherwise they shall not be interviewed and no
TA will be admissible.
(v) The selected candidate may be transferred/posted at any of the Company's Offices/
Divisions anywhere in India and abroad.
(vi) Applicants should have sound health. The appointment of
the selected candidate will be subject to meeting the health standards prescribed
by the Company.
(vii) Category such as OBC (Non Creamy layer), SC, ST, Physically
Challenged, J&K Domicile
candidates and Exservicemen should be carefully filled
up in the online application form as this will not be allowed
to be changed at a later date.
(viii)OBC candidates who do not come under the Non Creamy Layer should indicate their category as General.
The category once declared, if found to be false at any later
stage will render the candidate liable for suitable actions including
termination and prosecution.
(ix) Candidates should ensure that they fulfil the essential eligibility
criteria prescribed for the post for which they have applied.
In case it is detected at any stage of recruitment process
that the candidate does not fulfill the eligibility criteria
and/ or does not comply with other requirements of this advertisement and/
or he/ she has furnished any incorrect/ false information or
has suppressed any material fact(s), his/ her candidature is liable to be rejected.
If any of the above shortcomings is/ are detected, even after
appointment, his/ her services are liable to be terminated without
